PlayPhone Names Andrew Page CFO

PlayPhone Inc., a distributor of mobile content, has named Andrew
Page chief financial officer and senior vice president of operations.
Page will oversee financial and administrative functions for PlayPhone
as well as internal operations including information technology,
customer service, business services and quality assurance.
Page previously served as CFO and senior vice president of business
strategy at online ticket provider StubHub Inc. and as CFO of Panasas,
a storage networking company. He also served as vice president,
business development at ONI Systems Corp. and as managing director
and head of the global communications group at Robertson Stephens.
Playphone provides a marketplace for mobile content, such as ring
tones and games, through its Web site. The company also licenses
its technology to other companies to sell their own branded mobile
content on the Internet. Content providers that have signed up to
use its online retail service include Sega Corp., ABC Inc. and Lycos
Inc., according to a release issued by the company.
The company has raised about $31 million since its founding in
2003. Its backers include Scale Venture Partners, Cardinal Venture
Capital and Menlo Ventures.
