Chad is focused on internet and enterprise software investments and joined Scale Venture Partners in 2006 with more than 20 years of marketing, sales, and general management experience. Chad works closely with Lumension Security, MerchantCircle and Vantage Media.

Prior to ScaleVP, he was General Manager and Senior Vice President of VeriSign's SSL business unit, where he managed the P&L and led all functional groups for the company's flagship division. During his tenure at VeriSign, Chad was responsible for more than doubling revenue growth, expanding international distribution and cultivating relationships with Fortune 500 customers. He also led two strategic acquisitions to strengthen VeriSign's leadership in the security market.

Prior to his position with VeriSign, Chad was President and CEO of Santa Cruz Networks and VP of Marketing at Caere Corporation (now called Nuance). He also held senior-level positions with Delrina Corporation and Polaris Software.

Chad holds an MBA degree from Rice University and a BA degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
