Google alum Eric Anderson joins Scale Venture Partners as a new Principal

JUMP TO:

People are our most important asset here at Scale Venture Partners, as we have shown many times before. We are always looking for great talent to grow our team, and are delighted to announce Eric Anderson has joined the team as our newest Principal.

Eric joins us from Google, where he was a Product Manager in the Data Analytics and Machine Learning group within Google Cloud. He led the team that launched Cloud Dataprep and also played a key role in the launch of Cloud Dataflow. Before Google, Eric was a Product Manager at Amazon Web Services.

As investors in business software, our investment philosophy is heavily steeped in understanding software markets and trends that are moving those markets. The move to the public cloud is a trend that we have been investing in for several years, in fact, it was the firm’s work and vision in the area that lead me to join from Netflix four years ago. Furthermore, the role of big data and its impact on machine learning continues to influence so many of the markets we invest in. Eric brings with him a deep knowledge of both trends, having built products for arguably the most technically advanced infrastructure company in the world. When he started at Google Cloud, there were only a few products, managers and salespeople. It is now one of the fastest growing areas within Google, with dozens of products, a global salesforce, and a notable executive team. This work piqued his interest in getting more closely involved in the startup ecosystem, and more specifically, with industry innovators that are driving change in the enterprise.

Eric has joined the team jumping feet first and exploring AWS re:invent his first week on the job. He will be focused on helping support our investments in companies driving innovation in cloud infrastructure and security, including machine learning and data processing.

    Welcome to the team, Eric!
