1.1 Scale Management, L.L.C. ("Scale", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy sets out how we collect, store, process, transfer, share and use data that identifies or is associated with you ("personal information") and information regarding our use of cookies and similar technologies
1.2 Scale operates a platform that allows users to submit information about their companies, and to view trends and other benchmarking data calculated based on that information, which it makes available through its website (the "Scale Service").
1.3 This privacy policy applies to the Scale Service.
1.4 Before accessing or using the Scale Service, please ensure that you have read and understood our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this privacy policy.
2. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE USE IT
2.1 We collect personal information about you when you voluntarily submit information directly to us when you create an account on the Scale Service, as well as when you access or use the Scale Service. This can include information you provide to us when you register for an account, fill in a form or submit any information to us through the Scale Service, when you communicate with us by phone, email or otherwise, when you subscribe to our blog, mailing lists, newsletters or other forms of marketing communications, or when you use some other feature of the Scale Service as available from time to time.

The table also lists the legal basis which we rely on to process the personal information, the categories of recipients of the personal information and information as to how we determine applicable retention periods.
2.4 We also automatically collect personal information about you indirectly about how you access and use the Scale Service and information about the device you use to access the Scale Service.
2.5 The table at Annex 2 sets out the categories of personal information we collect about you automatically and how we use that information. The table also lists the legal basis which we rely on to process the personal information, the categories of recipients of the personal information and information as to how we determine applicable retention periods.
2.6 We may link or combine the personal information we collect about you and the information we collect automatically. This allows us to provide you with a personalised experience regardless of how you interact with us.
2.7 We may anonymise and aggregate any of the personal information we collect (so that it does not directly identify you). We may use anonymised information for purposes that include testing our IT systems, research, data analysis, improving the Scale Service and developing new products and features. We may also share such anonymised information with others.
3. MARKETING AND ADVERTISING
3.1 From time to time we may contact you with relevant information about the Scale Service. Most messages we send will be by email. For some messages, we may use personal information we collect about you to help us determine the most relevant information to share with you.
3.2 If you do not want to receive such messages from us, you will be able to tell us by selecting certain boxes on forms we use when we first collect your contact details. You can change your marketing preferences by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails.
4.STORING AND TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
4.1 Security. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, change or damage. 4.2 Where you register for an account on the Scale Service you are responsible for maintaining your account’s security as more specifically explained in the Terms of Use.
4.3 International Transfers of your Personal Information. The personal information we collect may be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the jurisdiction you are in where we and our third party service providers have operations. If you are located in the UK or the European Economic Area ("EEA"), your personal information will be processed outside of the UK and EEA including in the United States.

8.1 The Scale Service is not directed at persons under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
