Ben Liebald

Ben is an engineering leader who has built and scaled products and engineering organizations at category-defining companies. Most recently, he led Engineering, Security and Applied Research teams at Harvey through a time of hypergrowth (6-8x increases in revenue, customers, team size & valuation). Before Harvey, Ben led Engineering at Figma for FigJam, Figma Slides, and other new products, growing FigJam usage and revenue 10x and contributing to Figma's path past $1B in revenue. Earlier in his career, he led Homepage and Personalized Recommendations at YouTube, growing engagement 100x and earning a Technology Emmy Award for his and his team's contributions to video recommender systems. Ben is also a former founder (Rep, acquired by Stripe) and active angel investor and advisor to startups. Ben holds a BSc in EECS from International University Bremen and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

At Scale, Ben focuses on advising portfolio companies on scaling their engineering organizations and building AI-native and agentic systems. He also works closely with the investment team to source and evaluate investment opportunities.
