Will McGinnis

Will leads Scale's work in using data and AI to find, invest in, and support great companies.

Previously, Will was an Executive Director at JP Morgan following their acquisition of Aumni, where he led Data Science. In these roles he focused on document processing, portfolio management, and analytics for VC firms. Prior to Aumni/JPMC he was a co-founder and Chief Scientist at Predikto, a leading predictive maintenance startup that was acquired by Raytheon Technologies in 2018, where he continued to lead the Applied Data group.

Will holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. He grew up in Atlanta in an entrepreneurial family, watching his father and grandfather build businesses at Turner Broadcasting and beyond.

Will is based in Atlanta with his wife and daughter, where he's an avid cyclist, hosts the monthly Atlanta AI Dinner for local practitioners, and has become an informal advisor to founders navigating post-acquisition life. He writes regularly about technical topics at mcginniscommawill.com.
