Rory O'Driscoll
Partner

Rory is a Partner at Scale and has been investing with the firm since the mid-1990s. He is currently focused on the business applications that are enabled by AI across both the digital and the physical world.

When he started investing in software, the dominant architecture was client-server, and the Mosaic internet browser had just launched. He has since invested through the internet era, the move to SaaS and cloud, and now the move to AI.

His SaaS investments include BILL (BILL), Box (BOX), DocuSign (DOCU), WalkMe (WKME) Omniture (OMTR), and Exact Target (ET). AI-first software investments from the pre-Gen AI period include Socure, Forter, and Solvvy. Post 2022, he has invested in companies including Tavus, Klarity, Regie, GC AI, and Unwrap. AI investments for the physical world include Locus Robotics, Drone Deploy, and Plus One Robotics.

He is a weekly guest on the 20VC podcast, providing commentary and analysis on the state of venture and tech.

Rory grew up in Ireland and moved to the UK to attend the London School of Economics. With a failed startup under his belt, he immigrated to the United States in 1991 and started in venture within a year of his arrival. In the rare moments he’s not working, he’s making time for friends and family and reading a broad range of fiction and nonfiction.

Max Abram
Partner

Max is an early-stage investor focused on AI applications, often partnering with founders at the first moments of product-market fit.

Max joined Scale from the growth equity group at Kayne Anderson. In this first investing role, he focused on category winners in underappreciated markets; he joined Scale to partner with founders focused on winning the largest prizes. To that end, Max counts the partnerships he championed with the teams at Bland and Tavus among his early career highlights. Max has been recognized as a rising star in venture by Business Insider.

A New York City native, Max studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Penn, where he was also a varsity rower. Outside of the office, Max enjoys playing backgammon, road biking, and reading fiction.

Becca Chambers
Chief Marketing Officer

Becca Chambers leads Scale’s marketing organization. Her team is dedicated to elevating the firm’s brand, amplifying the investment team’s voices, and providing hands-on counsel to portfolio companies navigating critical growth stages.

A Silicon Valley native who grew up during the dot-com boom (and bust), Becca’s path to venture started in sports PR before returning to her Bay Area roots in enterprise tech communications. Her experience spans VC-backed startups, PE-backed scale-ups, and public Fortune 100s—like McAfee, Ivanti, and MobileIron—where she built corporate marketing teams, led major rebrands, and navigated numerous acquisitions from both sides of the table. She holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and both an MA and BA from USC (Fight On!).

Known to some as "Becca from LinkedIn," she’s a proud "word nerd" whose content on communications and personal branding reaches millions every month. In 2025, she was ranked the #1 female creator in Sales & Marketing on LinkedIn, and is a frequent speaker on the power of personal brand in the age of AI. Her work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Forbes, and Fortune.

Becca is also a vocal neurodiversity advocate, drawing from her experience as an executive with ADHD and a parent to neurodivergent children. Outside of Scale, she co-hosts the acclaimed Under Embargo podcast and co-runs the San Francisco Pancreatic Cancer Action Network affiliate with her mother and sister, where they have raised over $2 million for pancreatic cancer research.

In her free time, Becca enjoys tending to her dozens of houseplants, feeding the "murder" of 23 neighborhood crows with her son, and leaning into whatever ADHD hyperfixation interests her that month (all while surviving the daily chaos of a household with two kids, three cats, and a dog).
